I did not feel I was making a political statement

Published September 5, 2024

This made me laugh. It also reminded me of something from years ago. During the early stages of my coming out and transition, I told my therapist that a thought running through my mind constantly was that someday each of us would be our own gender.

It felt profound at the time. I didn’t feel in any way that I was making a political statement.

And I think I mostly still believe it. I should remind her about it today during my session.

Oh, gosh, imagine if I had said pronouns. Pronouns!

Anyway, it’s perversely reassuring and comically sad at the same time that manufactured outrage can be so easily … manufactured, and sold, all while the world is burning and breaking into pieces.

So we will just go on adding genders. Our production plants are fully staffed and ready.

Love,

Ms. Carly
