Sometimes there’s no answer, no solution

Published October 16, 2023

For years now, I’ve been waiting for some things to come into focus, for answers to reveal themselves, for broken things to repair themselves and begin again to function as intended, and for years now, it’s almost never happened.

The big-ticket items, if you will, often seem the most resistant to repair. I’m talking about life-and-death things, wellness things. Quality of life.

Stubborn, those.

The closest I come to peace is when I realize that sometimes there is no answer. No solution. An impossible situation is an impossible situation, and there’s nothing to be done about that.

“Make the best of things,” I tell myself. “That’s all you can do.”

Sometimes, I even listen.

You are right. Even if ideally, you shouldn’t have to. But there’s rarely fairness and justice and then, therefor, being able to make the best of things is the most valuable skill of all.
