Now that I am not on social media anymore, sometimes I forget that my friends might still be curious about my hair journey. But what fun is a normal hair update?
Let’s imagine I am walking away from you and, having seen someone who resembles me, out of context, you ask, “Was that Carly who just walked past?”
“Carly?” you call out.
Eventually, as I realize I can’t go through life showing only my favorite view of my hair to the world, the back and its curls, I turn around.
“Yes?” I say.
If I had better collage-making skills, I’d pair the two photos together, not post them like I’ve done, but as it turns out, one file is super big and the other is super small, so that’s out. Let’s not dwell on it. Here’s Carly’s summer 2024 hair, for those who may have been wondering.
Now let’s get back to imagining me walking away from you. I hope you are in a good place.

This makes me think of a billboard I saw over 40 years ago in Dallas. It was for a country music radio station and they used clever song lyrics to grab your attention. Picture, a long, tall set of legs in cowboy boots walking away…
